Burnside Project
Burnside Project is a New York City based electro-pop band. The band members include Richard Jankovich, Gerald Hammill, Paul Searing, Anna Bohichik and Michael Lerner. They transformed from a solo project in 1999, to a duo in 2001, a trio shortly after their album release in 2003 and finally expanded to a five-piece in 2005.
The group released their debut, The Networks, the Circuits, the Streams, the Harmonies in 2003 on Bar/None. In 2005, the group released The Finest Example is You. As of May 2007, they were in the studio recording new material.
The song "Cue the Pulse to Begin", from The Networks, the Circuits, the Streams, the Harmonies, was used as the theme song to seasons 4 and 5 of the US TV series Queer as Folk. "Cue The Pulse To Begin" also became a top 10 radio hit in Japan when "Networks" was released on SONY/DefSTAR in 2004. The band toured the country in support of the release in Summer of 2004.
In 2005, bandleader Richard Jankovich also began making a name for himself remixing and producing under the name "Pocket." To date, he has release "pocket mixes" for Joanna Newsom, Elk City, Mendoza Line, Antony & The Johnsons, Eskobar, Cat Power, Dirty On Purpose and Of Montreal. Read more on Last.fm.
